This little piggy went to market ...

I really enjoy Saturdays when I can slide my piggies into my favorite walking shoes and head down to the local farmer's market at Pearl.

This Saturday was particularly fun. After visiting the market, my hubby and I strolled along the landscaped River Walk to the San Antonio Museum of Art for the annual Bazaar Sabado.

The fundraising event, benefiting the Museum, features handmade crafts by artisans from around the globe. Embroidered blouses and linens from Mexico, carved wooden boxes and canes from Central American countries, woven scarves from the Middle East ... the list goes on and on.

The throng of shoppers was itself a sight to behold. The people who knew their way around the bazaar tent were making a mad dash for items on their wish list.

The jewelry, particularly the silver pieces, was an absolute favorite.  So much so, that I never made it anywhere near the display counter.

Hubby and I snaked our way through the crowd and made a dash for one of our favorite brunch spots, the Bistro Bakery in Olmos Park. There, I can close my eyes and feel like I'm in France, if only for a moment.

A freshly baked croissant, lovely salad with mustard vinegarette, and the very best Quiche Lorraine anywhere in the States topped off a fantastic morning.
